Peachy Harpa Shell
The Peachy Harpa Shell has a combination of amazing colours, patterns and textures all in the one stunning shell. It is hard to know where to start when describing these incredible shells. The colours are the most beautiful combination of peach, caramel, honey through to a milky chocolate brown underneath. The shell is covered in the intricate pattern of what resembles a heart beat. Finally, the shell is ribbed along the length to add to interest and texture what is a spectacular species of shell. These eye-catching shells can be found amongst the warm tropical waters of Australia's top end.
Between 5.5cm - 7cm in size these are an amazing addition to any shell collection or display as a spellbinding stand-alone specimen. These shells made such an impression on my product photographer @verityedgecombeproducts_food (and she gets to see all our beautiful shells up close and personal) that she fell head over heels in love with them and is now the proud owner of a Peachy Harpa Shell :)
Mindful Sourcing of Shells and Marine Life:
We support the company that supports the oceans. My supplier collects shells that are abundant, commercial-grade shells. The shells we sell have originally been collected for food or are the by-product of licensed fishing and aquaculture operations. This means we get to share and enjoy shells that would otherwise be waste.
I source my shells from a company that are mindful of their overseas harvesters and use fair trade practices. They have voluntarily committed to an industry Stewardship Action Plan to adapt responsibly to working in a marine environment and also contribute to scientific research projects and participate in government initiatives. In November 2008, the fishery was presented internationally as an example of the world’s best practice in ecologically sustainable fisheries management.
